Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about FSTRX during Beta.
Getting started
FSTRX is an end-to-end platform built for the music sync industry.
It brings music discovery, briefs, submissions, catalog management, reviewing, sharing, approvals, and the sync workflow into one place.
Instead of jumping between multiple platforms, folders, emails, playlists, and links, FSTRX helps keep the entire process organized in one workspace.
FSTRX is built for both sides of the sync industry:
Music Supervisors, Agencies & Brands
Use FSTRX to manage projects, create briefs, discover music, receive submissions, audition tracks against video, build shortlists, collaborate with clients, and manage the sync process.
Artists, Composers, Producers & Music Libraries
Use FSTRX to manage music catalogs, organize metadata, submit music to projects, and make tracks available for discovery.
Workspace and Library
Think of them as two different sides of FSTRX.
Workspace is where sync projects happen. You can create a project, upload a video or creative brief, search for music, invite creators to submit tracks, review submissions, audition music against picture, create playlists, and share selections with clients.
Library is where music lives. Artists, composers, producers, publishers, and music libraries can upload and manage their catalogs, organize metadata, search their own music, and prepare tracks for sync opportunities.
Not necessarily.
If you mainly supervise music or manage sync projects, you may primarily use the Workspace.
If you mainly create, represent, or manage music, you may primarily use the Library.
Some users may use both.
Yes.
You can use the Library to organize and manage your catalog even if you do not opt in to FSTRX discovery.
FSTRX can help organize information such as genres, moods, instruments, vocals, lyrics, themes, descriptions, credits, and other important track metadata.
Yes.
FSTRX is designed to make it easier to bring existing music catalogs into the platform rather than rebuilding everything manually.
Depending on your current setup, different catalog import options may be available.
Discovery and the FSTRX catalog
The FSTRX Internal Catalog is a curated music catalog available inside the platform for music discovery.
When working on a project, supervisors can search the FSTRX catalog and quickly audition tracks against their project.
FSTRX is designed to let supervisors search for music in ways that feel closer to how they actually think about a project.
You can search using things like:
- A creative description or brief
- Genres, moods, themes, or musical characteristics
- Reference tracks
- Audio references
- Video and project context
FSTRX then helps surface relevant music that can be reviewed and auditioned inside the project.
Projects and clients
Yes.
FSTRX lets you audition tracks directly against picture so you can quickly hear how different music works with a scene.
You can also create playlists and shortlists without leaving the project.
Yes.
A Workspace project can include music submissions from composers, artists, producers, or libraries.
Those submissions stay organized inside the project so you can review them alongside other music you are considering.
Yes.
You can create clean, client-facing playlists or shortlists and share selected tracks without exposing the entire internal project.
This makes it easier for clients to listen, review, comment, and approve music.
Beta and help
FSTRX is currently in Beta, which means the platform is live and available to use while we continue improving and expanding it.
During Beta, you may see new features added, existing tools improved, or parts of the experience change as we learn from real-world use.
Your feedback is a big part of that process. If something feels confusing, you find an issue, or there's a feature you'd like to see, email us at help@fstrx.io.
